Writing more than a mere dictionary or encyclopedia, Armando Partida talks about the scope of this critical bibliography on more than 50 Mexican playwrights of the second half of the 20th century. From an esthetic/historical critical viewpoint, he offers a panorama of trends, schools and authors that –since the late 60’s to the early 90’s— filled the contemporary Mexican scene with new texts. The selected playwrights come from only three different generations. He calls them: “pioneers”, “new dramaturgy”, and “newest drama authors”. The reference sheets offer a biography and a curriculum on each author, an approximation of their style and topics of their writings, a bibliohemerographic selection of their plays, a critical analysis of a text and/or a play staged by them. In a special separate paragraph he explains “other scenic activities, inventory and chronology of the plays” of the following playwrights: Guillermo Alanís, Alejandro Aura, María Elena Aura, Leonor Azcárate, Enrique Ballesté, Juan José Barreiro, Sabina Berman, Ignacio Betancourt, Carmen Boullosa, Pilar Campesino, Maribel Carrasco, Rocío Carrillo, Jorge Celaya, Jaime Chabaud, José Ramón Enríquez, Tomas Espinosa, Raúl Falco, Hernán Galindo, Felipe Galván, Armando García, Jesús González Dávila, Hugo Hiriart, José Agustín, Estela Leñero, Vicente Leñero, Alejandro Licona, Fernando Muñoz, David Olguín, Carlos Olmos, Silvia Peláez, Ricardo Pérez Quitt, Víctor Hugo Rascón, Luis Eduardo Reyes, Norma Román Calvo, Hugo Salcedo, Guillermo Schmidhuber, Ignacio Solares, Miguel Ángel Tenorio, Juan Valenzuela, José J.
