She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Dramatic Arts from the National Theater Art School of INBA, a Bachelor´s Degree in pedagogy from UNAM and a Master´s in Latin American Studies (UNAM). Since 1991, she has worked as a researcher at CITRU, CONACULTA, an INBA dependency. She has published as coauthor Three biennial books of Theater in Mexico (1990-1991,1992-1993,1994-1995) and Theater in Mexico 1990-2000; Golden Age of the Puppet Theater at the Palace of Fine Arts (1932-1965); The Rosete Aranda Brothers National Mexican Company of Automatons (1835-1942); Marquee Theater Rosete Aranda, Company Charles V. Espinal and Sons (1900–1961) and the documentary Once Upon a Time… A Puppet’s Story, produced by Channel 22. Currently, she is carrying out the project Commented Chronology of Puppet Groups in Mexico 1970-2013.

She has written essays about theater and puppets in specialized magazines both nationally and internationally; she gave conferences on the duty of theater in Mexico; she has moderated in theater events; has been guest advisor and director for theater and puppeteer groups, a member of juries in national contests and an academic advisor at CITRU.

She received the award “Rosete Aranda 2008”, for her artistic work in support of puppet art in Mexico in the framework of the 23rd Rosete Aranda International Puppet Festival. In 2010, she received the “Crystal Screen” special mention for the documentary Once Upon a Time… A Puppet’s Story, for research, achievement and the rescuing of Mexican cultural traditions; special mention for “Academic Performance in Research 2008–2010”, acknowledgement given by CONACULTA–INBA, and special mention for “Academic Performance in Research 2011-2012”, acknowledgement given by CONACULTA–INBA.
